AlphaLink Virus Warning for October 3rd, 2006
In the last few days we have been noticing an increase in virus traffic across our e-mail server. Please be certain that you have the latest Windows Updates and Antivirus Definitions to protect your computer from any possible infection. Some of the infected e-mail messages we have seen, include attached Zip files that claim to be security fixes from Microsoft or other Software Vendors. If you have any questions or concerns about something you come across do not hesitate to contact us. |

AlphaLink Fights Growing SPAM Problem
Since June, AlphaLink has been addressing a
growing volume of SPAM (unwanted mail).
As of August 1, we have made several
adjustments to our security settings and
hope to have curbed the number of unwanted
emails that are creeping into our clients
email boxes.
We also have a new procedure to report spam.
Our Spam Filter support people MUST receive
your entire email (including headers) to
analyze the spam and take action (including
reporting abusers to blacklists).
Following the following procedure to capture
the spam for forwarding
1. Start
a new email, addressed to
SpamTrap@alink.com
2. Minimize the email and select and
drag the offending email to the minimized
icon at the bottom of your screen.
3. Release the message into the body
area of the email created in Step 1.
4. Send the email. |

New Web Mail Interface Launched
A
major update the AlphaLink's webmail product
will be completed on April 18, 2006. New
is improved performance and spell checking
feature. AlphaLink continues to use Vircom's ModusMail which has outstanding
virus and spam prevention tools.

AlphaLink Rolls Out New Web Site
On
April 3, AlphaLink launched its new Web
Site. "We feel the new site more
accurately reflects what we do", commented
AlphaLink Owner and President, John Carson.
"Our plan is to provide a site that will
keep our clients up to date about technology
products, services and support issues." |
